3v3 League Playing Rules

Don’t be a douche.

No slapshots. A slapshot is defined as a wind-up above the knee. Play will be blown dead, and the non-offending team will be awarded possession.

Games will consist of two 9 minute periods of run-time play, with a one minute intermission.

There are no Time-Outs.

In the event of an injury, play will be stopped. The clock will not be stopped, and any missed time will not be restored.

Hat trick rule applies. Players can score a maximum of 3 goals per game. Any additional goals will be disallowed, and the defending team will be awarded possession.

All minor penalties will result in an awarded goal. Play will then reset, with the On-Ice Official placing a new puck into play at center ice.

If a stoppage occurs due to a goal, or the goalie freezing the puck, the defending team will get possession, and the attacking team must back up beyond center ice until the defending team advances the puck beyond the imaginary line connecting the face off dots.

In the event a puck leaves the playing surface (i.e. over the glass, into the neutral zone, etc) the On-Ice Official will immediately place a new puck into play to keep play moving. If a puck should hit the protective netting above the glass and land in play, play will continue with no stoppage.

Should an extra puck enter play, the Players or On-Ice Official should remove the extra puck to the Neutral Zone, unless the additional puck affects plays or causes confusion, in which case, play will be stopped, and will resume with a new puck at center ice.

Players may change on the fly, but all changes must occur from the teams’ defensive end near the face off dot. Players should be mindful of the skating lane for the On-Ice Officials, and leave sufficient space.

Team will be awarded 2 pts in the league standings for each win, 1 pt for ties, 0 pts for a loss.
